I created Node & Talg after years of using skincare products that either didn’t work or were too harsh for my sensitive skin. I was constantly frustrated, not understanding why my skin wasn’t improving or why it always felt irritated.

Growing up, my dad always said “moisturize, moisturize, moisturize.”
He kept his routine simple, and his skin showed it. That idea stuck with me.

I followed that advice, but no matter what I used, nothing seemed to work for me.

It wasn’t until my sophomore year of college that I began to take a deeper look at my health and wellness. I started paying attention to what I was putting into my body, eating better, reading labels, and being more intentional. But in doing that, I realized I had completely overlooked something just as important: what I was putting on my body.

I began turning over my skincare products and reading the ingredient lists. The truth was, I was trusting products I didn’t understand. That realization pushed me to dig deeper, and that’s when I discovered beef tallow.

Not just any tallow, but 100% grass-fed, grass-finished, sourced from local regenerative farms. It’s naturally rich in fat-soluble vitamins and closely resembles the oils our skin produces, making it deeply nourishing and highly compatible with the skin.

Within just a few weeks of using it, I saw a real difference. The dryness was gone. The irritation faded. My skin tone became more even, and for the first time, my skin wasn’t reacting, it was functioning the way it was meant to.

I started small, making batches in my kitchen, testing them on myself, and watching my skin transform. What began as a personal solution quickly grew into something much bigger:

A mission to bring skincare back to its roots.
